Frequently when you're riding on Zwift, you might see a user named "G.Master" aka "Game Master" just idling on the side of the road, not pedaling, not riding, with no mileage next to his name... wearing a jersey stuffed full of RideOns given to him by others riding by.
Who is this mysterious rider?
Why doesn't he ride?
Is he some sort of stalker?
Does he have my car keys?
Not to worry! G.Master is simply a computer player, a placeholder on the course, put there by Zwift HQ on certain days when there are NPCs on the map.
Sometimes you'll see him, and other times he'll be hiding inside a building or way off the course in a field or in the middle of the water. Other times he's not online at all.
G.Master also controls the NPCs, the blue Non-Player Characters you may see on the map from time to time.
He also coordinates the time of day across all players when he's logged on. This means that two players logged in at the same time, will experience daytime, sunrises, moon views and other elements of the shifting times, syncrhonously. They'll both see the same events. Without G.Master logged in and active, one player may see their view as night while another sees their view as daytime.
He's harmless, but feel free to give him a RideOn when you pass by!
